Vor der Sommerpause / Before the summer break

Kühles Wetter, heisse Party
Obwohl die Schafskälte mehr als erwartet brachte mit zahlreichem Regen, liessen sich ein paar unentwegte Mitglieder unseres Clubs nicht davon abhalten, letztes Wochenende am Bishops Cup in St. Gallen teilzunehmen. Ein williges Männerteam des RFC Basel erreichte dabei den 11. Platz (von insgesamt 18 Teilnehmern), oder präzis ausgedrückt, den 3. Platz in der „Plate Competition.“ Ein Frauenteam, gemischt aus Spielerinnen des RFCB und von St. Louis, nahm nur am Samstag teil, erzielte dabei aber zwei Versuche und wurde Siebter (von acht) – aber alle genossen die bekannt heisse Party am Samstagabend.

Cool weather, hot party
Although the cold snap brought more than expected with lots of rain, a few steadfast members of our club could not be stopped to participate in the Bishops Cup last weekend. A willing men’s team of RFC Basel finished 11th (out of 18 participants), or, to be precise, 3rd in the Plate competition. A women’s team mixed of players from and St. Louis only took part on Saturday, but scored two tries and finished 7th (out of 8) – but everybody enjoyed the traditionally hot party on Saturday evening.

Turnier lässt Vorhang fallen
Diesen Sonntag (27. Juni) werden auch unsere Frauen ihre Sommerpause antreten können, nach ihrem Sevens-Turnier auf der Pruntrutermatte (von 11.00 Uhr bis 16.00 Uhr). Dazu haben sie auch noch ihr letztes Meisterschaftsspiel gegen Luzern Dangels. Helferinnen und Helfer für das Tzrnier, aber auch Zuschauer sind gerne willkommen.

Curtain falls after tournament
This Sunday (27 June) our girls will be able to start their summer break as well, after their Sevens tournament at the Pruntrutermatte (from 11:00 hr to 16:00 hrs). On top of that they have their laast championship match to play against Lucerne Dangels. Both helpers for tournament and spectators are more than welcome.
