Das Ende der Winterpause…
…naht. Die Spieler haben trainiert und warten ungeduldig auf die ersten Einsätze. Für unsere 1. Mannschaft wird das der 13. März sein, wenn die Spieler von Andy Kendall in den Achtelfinals des Schweizer Cups auf den NLA-Club treffen werden. Das Future Team muss bis zum 20. März warten, ehe das Spiel gegen den RC Solothurn ansteht, und für unsere Frauen geht es am letzten März-Wochenende los.
The end of the winter break…
…is near. Players have been training and eagerly wait for the first matches. Our 1st XV will start on 13 March when Andy Kendall’s players hope to kick NLA club Yverdon out of the first round of the Swiss Cup (let us hope they do not take “kick” literally). Our Future Team have to wait until 20 March for their match versus RC Solothurn, and our “Birds” start again on the last weekend of March.
RFCB trägt Schweiz – Litauen aus
Die Fédération Suisse de Rugby (FSR) hat den RFC Basel beauftragt, am Samstag, 17. April 2010, das Länderspiel Schweiz – Litauen auszutragen. Der Club hat bereits mit der Organisation begonnnen und hofft auf ein zahlreichen Besuch zu diesem Spiel auf der Pruntrutermatte. Ausführliche Informationen werden in den kommenden Wochen folgen. Da es sich übrigens hierbei um ein Qualifikationsspiel des European Nations Cup (Gruppe 3A) der Association Européene de Rugby (FIRA/AER) handelt, besteht auch eine äusserst hohe Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass dieses Spiel stattfindet – das Freundschaftsspiel zwischen der Schweiz und den Niederlanden, mit Basel als vorgesehenem Austragungsort, fiel ja vor einem Jahr bedauerlicherweise kurzfristig aus, weil der niederländische Verband die Auswirkungen der Finanzkrise zu spüren bekam…
RFCB hosts Switzerland versus Lithuana
The Fédération Suisse de Rugby (FSR) has asked the RFC Basel to host the rugby international between Switzerland and Lithuania on Saturday 17 April 2010. The club has already put wheels into action to organise the match and is hoping for a large attendance at this match. Detailed information will follow in the coming weeks. By the way, as it is an official qualifying match for the European Nations Cup (Group 3A) by FIRA/AER the probability is very high the match will actually take place – unlike the friendly international between Switzerland and the Netherlands that was supposed to take place in Basel last May but had unfortunately to be cancelled on short notice because the Dutch Rugby Union felt the effects of the financial crisis…
